[EF#10] SEGO PECEL

source: a-letter-of-memories.blogspot.com

I remember that I had upload it but unfortunately can't find any photos of Sego Pecel in my blog. Fine, that one still resembling Sego Pecel my most favorite Indonesian Cuisine. When I was lived at Bolorejo (Kalangbret, Tulungagung-East java) almost everyday I had it as my breakfast. A plate of Sego Pecel usually consist of rice, peanut brittle, entho (made from tempe which isn't fresh anymore, I don't know what to call it), vegetable (sometimes only have sprout, spinach and long beans) and peanut sauce which used banana's leaf to wrapped it up. A long time ago this food was cheap.

In Tarjun (a village where I live now) the tasted of Sego Pecel was different. I ate it at a cafe in Serongga a week ago while my brother bought me a motorcycle. Not like Sego Pecel from Bolorejo, in Serongga a plate of Sego Pecel only consisted of rice, vegetable and peanut sauce, fried chicken or fried egg (you can choose one of this two), tahu or tempe. I think Sego Pecel from Bolorejo was the best and I miss it. I know that every place have their own recipe of Sego Pecel.

Maybe because not everyone can make peanut brittle also entho, they only make their own Sego Pecel which is alike. Even the peanut sauce tasted was different. Huuuua I prefer go to Bolorejo again to have it. I can't make it on my own right now, because most ingredient use peanut such as for making peanut sauce and peanut brittle (FYI: my parents can't eat it if the ingredient use so much peanuts, because this isn't good for their healthy-even if my mother scolding to my father, he doesn't care and keep eat it just like usual LOL).

Anyway, this is my first time to answer weekly challenge from BEC. I like some Indonesian Cuisines, but Sego Pecel is one of Cuisine I mostly like. How about you guys? Do you like it too?

Note:
Sorry if my story is too short and have some grammar mistakes. I feel so happy because finally I have a courage to write in my blog freely using English language. Thank you BEC :)

  3. Hi, Mbak Ajeng. Nice to know you. I'm glad you wrote this post for BEC EF Challenge. I commented using my googlePlus. But if you want to read my post, take your browser to get mine in reviewumami.wordpress (haha, promosi).

I love Sego Pecel, just like you. But, maybe the ingredients are different. I usually ask bakwan to complete this cuisine, then pour peanute sauce on it. :)

  6. My favorite dish is sego pecel as well, even though in Ponorogo the serving style was bit different. It's interesting enough to know that most people like their own local taste. Me too.

Compared to other foods, sego pecel is still considered cheapest one I think.

  10. Hi Mba Ajeng. Welcome to the challenge. That's ok if we made mistakes as long as we are willing to learn. Btw I am Febriyan or Ryan (ryanfile.wordpress.com). I am using my old google account here to commented.

Sego Pecel is one of the best foods in Indonesia. But I don't like if it's spicy. Hehe.
